The Role of Parents
St Francis Pre-School recognises parents as the first and most important educators of their children. Our pre-school aims to support parents.
Parents are welcomed:
- to work in the group with the children
- to assist with fundraising
- to take part in the management committee of the pre-school
The Pre-School Rota
Research shows that children learn better when their parents are involved. Our rota system involves all parents working in the group on a regular basis. This gives parents the opportunity to take an active part in the group if they so wish and allows them to see what happens and to talk about it with their child.
The pre-school is run by an elected parent committee. This ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the group, though the day to day running of the group is in the hands of experienced staff. Our Annual General Meeting at which the committee for the following year is elected, is held in September and parents will be informed in good time so that they can attend.
